OMG !!! I"ve been using every iteration of PSCS since it was created, and I never noticed this in Bridge, partially because I've always downloaded easily with IB into my pre-made-named folders on the desktop with no problems. Another option is to put the card in the card reader and manually copying the images to the folder you want, after which if you want to rename the individual image files you can use the Adobe Bridge bulk rename tool in the tools menu. You can get around this by installing Adobe Bridge CC2017 (free but you get some extras with it). The only downside I have run across is that Adobe Bridge CS6 does not recognize 64GB memory cards. This will work either from the camera over USB or from the card in a card reader. I use the same - as the folder followed by an auto generated sequence number that I reset to start at 1 unless loading from multiple cards. It also allows me to rename the individual image files as part of the import.

I use a - naming structure for my folders. This allows me to create the folder or subfolder where I want the images to be stored as well as select the files I want to import. I use the "Get Photos from Camera" option under the File menu in Adobe Bridge CS6 (comes with Photoshop CS6). This is definitely an example of "if it aint' broke, don't fix it" !! Meanwhile, somewhere I now have 150 images downloaded via EOS Utility that I can't locate. Not sure why it was working fine before ?

Also my old Image Browser EX which worked with the SL1, is demanding I download "Silverlight" to work. Now I find IB software is no longer availaable with SL2, and the new EOS Utilityy won't let me download except into "photos" or "albums" etc. I did a kind of "work-around" by using IB's software to choose which images on my card I wanted to download into pre-named folders on my desktop which I then dropped into the IB folder in Photoshop CS6 (or (whatever PSCS version I was using at the time) for editing in CS6. I always have downloaded my Canon images via Image Browser EX, whatever the latest version happened to be.
